Former Riders LB Jeff Knox Jr. signs with Tampa Bay Bucs

Former Riders linebacker Jeff Knox Jr. has signed with the Tampa Bay Bucs, according to his own Instagram account.

The pending CFL free agent was freed by the Riders to ink that deal.

Saskatchewan brought Knox Jr. back into the fold after he 25-year-old was among the final cuts after the Tampa Bay Bucs completed training camp in 2017. He was released by Chris Jones and the Riders last January to pursue that NFL opportunity.

Knox Jr. played in eight games for the Riders making 23 tackles, seven special teams tackles and one sack last season. Prior to that, he played two seasons with Saskatchewan making 177 tackles, 29 special teams tackles, one sack and one interception in 35 games. He was named a CFL West All-Star after his rookie CFL season in 2015.
