Linebacker J.C. Sherritt agrees to extension with Eskimos

J.C. Sherritt and the green and gold have agreed to terms on a two-year contract extension, per sources.

Sheritt suffered a ruptured Achilles in the second quarter of the Eskimos’ Week 1 win over B.C. last season. He practised during the CFL playoffs which means Sherritt should be 100 per cent for the 2018 season.

The 29-year-old was the CFL’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player in 2012 when he made 122 tackles, five interceptions, three sacks and three forced fumbles.He also won a Grey Cup with the Eskimos in 2015.

Sherritt has played seven seasons in the CFL – all with Edmonton – recording 407 tackles, 45 special teams tackles, 16 forced fumbles, 12 sacks, 12 interceptions and one touchdown in 91 games.
