The Toronto Argonauts have re-signed American receiver S.J. Green to a two-year contract.
The 32-year-old Green, who started all 18 regular season games in 2017 and set career-highs in receptions (104) and receiving yards (1,462), was set to become a free agent on Feb. 13.
“SJ had a remarkable season last year and was a huge part of our team’s success,” said general manager, Jim Popp said in a statement. “He is a fierce competitor and brings veteran leadership to our locker room. We are excited to welcome him back for another two seasons and reunite the remarkable Ray-Green connection in 2018.”
Green was acquired in a trade with the Montreal Alouettes last off-season after spending 10 years with the Montreal Alouettes. In 134 career CFL games, Green has tallied 548 receptions, 8,088 receiving yards, and 52 touchdowns.
