Riders DB Kacy Rodgers to sign with New York Jets

Riders defensive back Kacy Rodgers II will sign with the New York Jets, per sources.

Saskatchewan let the American cover man go to ink the deal. Rodgers’ dad Kacy is the defensive coordinator with the Jets.

The 25-year-old played two seasons for Saskatchewan making 74 tackles, three forced fumbles, one interception for a touchdown and one sack in 25 regular season games. Rodgers emerged as a top DB in 2017 for the Riders.

The University of Miami product went unselected in the NFL draft in 2014. Kansas City brought him to rookie mini-camp, but the Chiefs did not offer him a contract.

The six-foot-two, 208-pounder originally signed with Edmonton in 2015.

Rodgers worked out for the New England PatriotsBuffalo Bills and Minnesota Vikings during the off-season.
