Alouettes quietly released Canadian defensive lineman Keith Shologan

Montreal gave national defensive lineman Keith Shologan his walking papers, according to TSN reporter Farhan Lalji.

The 32-year-old signed with the Alouettes as a free agent last off-season and played seven games making seven tackles. Prior to that Shologan had nine seasons under his belt for Winnipeg, Ottawa or Saskatchewan. He made 197 tackles, 25 sacks and three forced fumbles in 140 games.

Shologan was originally a first-round, fourth overall pick in the 2008 CFL draft by the Riders.
