Import running back Mossis Madu has officially signed a one-year contract for the 2018 season with the Redblacks.
Ottawa general manager Marcel Desjardins said that terms had been agreed to on an extension Wednesday.
“I can tell you that we’ve agreed verbally with Mossis Madu. With [William] Powell, Madu and [Ed] Ilnicki this has been running back week here with the Redblacks,” Desjardins said on TSN 1200.
The 30-year-old runner had 71 carries for 317 yards and two touchdowns adding 23 catches for 188 yards and two touchdowns for Ottawa in 2017. Madu put up 490 yards on 92 carries and three touchdowns plus 14 receptions for 113 yards the year prior. His CFL career began in 2014 with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
During three seasons Madu has amassed 1,155 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground and 81 grabs for 813 yards and two touchdowns in 28 games.
