He signed a reserve/future deal on Tuesday.
The five-foot-10, 230-pounder went undrafted by NFL teams coming out of Central Washington in 2011. After six years in the CFL, Bighill inked a deal with New Orleans last January.
The 28-year-old made 11 tackles, defended two passes and recorded an interception in four pre-season games, accepting a practice roster spot coming out of training camp. Bighill suited up in three games for the Saints in 2017 making one tackle.
He racked up 108 tackles – third most in the CFL – five sacks and one interception in 2016 for the B.C. Lions while earning league all-star honours for the fourth time in his six-year CFL career.
New Orleans season ended in the NFC Divisional round after Minnesota scored in the dying seconds to beat the Saints.
What a wild season. An amazing experience! Thanks to all of #WhoDatNation for your unwavering support. #savagelife #99reasons #whodat
