Lions, QB Jon Jennings agree to restructured contract

Jonathon Jennings regressed in 2017.

After putting together a stellar 2016 display, Jennings numbers were down across the board in a disappointing 7-11 season on the Left coast.

“We have full confidence in Jonathon. I believe that he has the opportunity, coming back this year to establish himself and we’ll have the opportunity to find out who the real Jonathon Jennings is this season,” Hervey told TSN‘s Dave Naylor.

Jennings current contract runs through the 2018 season and as currently constructed he’s supposed to make $300,000 up from $175,000 in 2017.

“There’s talk of restructuring, but not necessarily for what he didn’t do on the field, more so to provide resources to put around him,” Hervey said. “We want to make sure that those resources can allow him to have success.”

TSN reporter Farhan Lalji has confirmed that has happened.
