Stampeders’ Dave Dickenson part of 2018 college football Hall of Fame class

Dave Dickenson is one of 10 players being inducted into the college football hall of fame in the 2018 class.

At the University of Montana, Dickenson threw for 13,486 yards and 116 touchdowns with a 68.7 career completion percentage while setting numerous NCAA, conference and school records. In 1995 he led the Grizzlies to an NCAA I-AA National Championship. That led to Dickenson being known as “Super Dave” in Montana.

During his senior season, in 15 games, he threw for 5,676 yards and 51 touchdowns. After that impressive campaign, Dickenson won the 1995 Walter Payton Award, which is equivalent to the Heisman Trophy for that division. He was a two-time first-team All-American who led the nation in passing in 1994-95.
