Eskimos sign former Chargers QB Eli Jenkins

Edmonton has inked quarterback Eli Jenkins.

The Eskimos added him to their neg list on September 13, 2015.

Jenkins was signed by the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted free agent in 2017, but the six-foot-two, 210-pounder was released before training camp after the bolts acquired quarterback Cardale Jones from the Buffalo Bills.

The 23-year-old played NCAA football at Jacksonville State where he was a dual-threat quarterback. Jenkins finished his four-year university career completing 56.5 per cent of his passes for 7,652 passing yards and 47 touchdowns against 27 interceptions while adding 3,796 rushing yards and 42 touchdowns.
