Tuesday Winnipeg head coach Mike O’Shea said Nichols will play on Sunday, but he may not practice fully all week.

Nichols hurt his calf on a non-contact play in the first quarter against the Lions and did not return in Week 19. He started 17 games for Winnipeg in 2017 and threw for 4,472 yards with a league-best 28-8 TD-INT ratio. Dan LeFevour took his place in Winnipeg’s Week 20 win over Calgary. The 30-year-old had started 30 games in a row for the Bombers.
