Jovon Johnson stands up for Riders teammate Duron Carter

Defensive back Jovon Johnson came to the defence of Duron Carter on Twitter following an incident at Riders practice on Monday.

As a captain on this football team I'm going to say this once "WE ARE FOCUSED ON THE TASK AT HAND THIS WEEKEND" please let us do that! #1

There was a fight that took place between Carter and rookie linebacker Sam Williams.

Also Sam did something unacceptable that triggered it, but it literally isn't as big a deal as it's being broadcasted!

Even though Carter was summoned by a member of the staff, Johnson was insistent that it wasn’t out of the ordinary.

It truly wasn't that freaking serious! Nor is any of the allegations true! So let us focus and do our jobs and stop spreading rumors! #1

Johnson seems like a good teammate, especially when you consider he’s defending one with a checkered reputation.
