The 35-year-old had been dealing with lingering effects from a broken foot suffered last season while playing for the Ticats, but Owens is healthy now.

He caught 58 passes for 808 yards and five touchdowns with Hamilton in 2016. Owens has played eight seasons in the CFL, six of those with the Argos. His career numbers are Hall-of-Fame worthy, including a 2012 season that saw him set a league record for all-purpose yards and earn the CFL’s Most Outstanding Player award.

Jones wanted Owens for his return abilities, he’s amassed 365 punt returns for 4,027 yards (11-yard average) and six touchdowns plus another 5,479 yards on kick-off returns and 803 yards on missed field goals and three majors.
