Veteran defensive lineman John Bowman will not be traded by the Alouettes.
The 35-year-old defensive end has played all 12 of his CFL seasons in Montreal. He’s won two Grey Cup championships with the Alouettes while becoming the franchise’s all-time sack leader with 119 career quarterback takedowns, seven of those this season.
“John Bowman deserves to decide his future as an Alouette only. Out of respect for what he has done for this organization and how he conducts himself, I won’t consider moving him,” general manager Kavis Reed said.
Bowman restructured his contract in January plus extended the deal to include the 2018 season.
