Argos keep quiet after Bear Woods sent to hospital

The Toronto Argonauts sent Bear Woods to a Toronto hospital Friday, and are unsure if their star linebacker will be available to play in Saturday’s key game against Saskatchewan at BMO Field.

“We want to make sure he has no internal issues,” Argos coach Marc Trestman said Friday after the team’s practice.

Trestman did no expand on what is ailing Woods, or how he may have come down with his ailment.

If Woods is not able to play Saturday, the Argos could activate Akeem Jordan, who they signed Sept. 12.

Jordan, a 32-year-old native of Harrisonburg, Virginia, was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2007, and went on to play for Kansas City and Washington.

The Argos have already suffered the injury loss of star linebacker Marcus Ball for this weekend; they have listed Terrance Plummer as a starter in place of Ball for Saturday’s game.
