Trent Richardson, Chad Owens at Riders practice

Running back Trent Richardson and receiver and return man Chad Owens are practising with Saskatchewan at Carleton University Tuesday.

The high-profile running back was signed by the Riders last week and travelled with the team on their eastern trip. He attended to a family matter in Florida while the Riders played and beat Ottawa then rejoined the team.

Owens has not played a down for Saskatchewan this season since being signed as a free agent. The 35-year-old has not suited up for a game since September 16, 2016. He was used mainly as a receiver with Hamilton recording 58 catches for 808 yards and five touchdowns in 12 games last season.

The Riders are preparing for the Argos in Ottawa in advance of their game on Saturday.
