Riders’ top draft pick tweets apparent retirement

The second overall pick of this year’s CFL draft has tweeted an ominous message about his future.

Cameron Judge, a late qualifier for the draft, has announced he is “stepping away” from football to focus on an “off the field opportunity.”

Judge appeared in the Riders’ first three games of the season, recording four special teams tackles. An athletic phenom, Judge was seen as a potentially ratio-breaking weak-side linebacker in the making.

It now appears his CFL career might be over.

Or not.
