The Hamilton Tiger-Cats game against the Toronto Argonauts has featured yet another questionable replay call.
In the third quarter with the Ticats leading by seven, defensive back Courtney Stephen intercepted Argo quarterback Ricky Ray. Toronto challenged the play, looking for pass interference on S.J. Green by Demond Washington. This is what the command centre saw:
After much deliberation – TSN went to commercial and came back before the decision was made – replay official Jake Ireland ruled that there was pass interference and the drive continued.
TSN analyst Glen Suitor was immediately critical of he decision on the broadcast.
"If that's pass interference we're not playing tackle football anymore" – @GlenSuitor #Ticats #CFLGameDay

TSN analyst @GlenSuitor is murdering the #CFL on the replay call: "That's the worst call I've seen all year."#Ticats #Argos

State of affairs on the roulette game known as #CFL pass interference: Says colour analyst, "if that's the precedent, we're in big trouble."

This is hardly the first time folks have expressed concern over the state of replay. Then there was the time CFL officiating cost somebody a million dollars.
Reaction on Twitter to this latest call was scathing and it wasn’t just the usual bitching from fans of the aggrieved team.
holy shit… clearly I am @TorontoArgos for life but that was a weak PI call on the #TIcats

Every team in the league has been hurt by these silly PI calls, and everyone has gained from them. Still dumb. #ticats #argos #cfl

The #Ticats got called for pass interference? For what, using harsh language? Brutal call, @CFL. #CFLonTSN

The @CFL needs to scrap ALL the rules at the end of the season and rethink everything called a penalty.#CFL #Ticats #Argos

@CFL this league is a complete joke and a laughing stock #Argos #ticats #?interference #Incompetence #refs
