Edmonton quarterback Mike Reilly took yet another bone-crunching shot with the game hanging in the balance in Toronto.
On 3rd-and-7, Eskimos down eight, less than two minutes left, Argos defensive back Matt Black came free on a blitz and planted Reilly into the turf at BMO Field. Edmonton head coach Jason Maas wanted a helmet-to-helmet hit called, but that didn’t come.
That comes on the heels of another controversial play in the Eskimos loss to Calgary in Week 12.
Stampeders defensive end Ja’Gared Davis clearly made contact with the crown of his helmet on Reilly’s, but no flag was thrown.
Two straight games, two big hits at crucial moments and calls going against Edmonton.
