Ottawa suffered a major blow with the loss of Trevor Harris for two-to-six weeks, but Redblacks general manager Marcel Desjardins gave a definitive answer on whether or not the team would contact 2016 Grey Cup MVP Henry Burris.

Clarifying an earlier tweet, the #Redblacks will not reach out to Henry Burris following shoulder injury to Trevor Harris (out 2-6 weeks).

Burris completed 35-of-46 passes for 461 yards and three touchdowns, adding two more on the ground, to upset Calgary 39-33 in overtime to win the CFL title game last November. The 41-year-old announced his retirement in January. That meant Harris was anointed as Ottawa’s No. 1 pivot.
And early this season, Burris had a theory that the team was struggling because he wasn’t there. Desjardins clearly doesn’t feel the same way.
