CFL linked NFL waiver claims and practice roster additions

The NFL rosters were reduced from 90 to 53 on Saturday, September 2 by 4 p.m. ET. Players who were waived hit waivers, which means they could be claimed by other teams – 44 players had that happen Sunday. Those players must be added to the claiming teams’ 53-man roster.

If players pass through untouched, they can be added to practice rosters. Each team can carry 10 practice roster players. If a player remains on the practice roster for the entire season, they’ll make $122,400 in U.S. dollars this year ($7,200 weekly).
