Bombers draft pick, OL Geoff Gray accepts practice roster spot with Jets

Canadian offensive lineman Geoff Gray has agreed to a practice roster spot with the New York Jets, per sources.

He signed a priority undrafted free agent deal with the Packers back in April, but Green Bay waived him after training camp.

The six-foot-six, 330-pound Winnipeg native was the Canada West Outstanding Down Lineman of the Year, making him a finalist for the J.P. Metras trophy for the 2016 USports football season. Gray’s strong play at the University of Manitoba and impressive physique – weightlifting background – helped get him an invite to the East-West Shrine Game. He showed he could hang with top NCAA talent and that caused scouts from eight NFL teams to go north to the Manitoba capital to see Gray’s pro day.
