It would appear the Ottawa Redblacks have released running back Shakir Bell, according to… running back Shakir Bell.

Bell was signed to a one-year deal by the Redblacks on May 9 but the team also has veterans William Powell and Mossis Madu on the roster,

The 25-year-old Bell broke into the league with Edmonton and spent two years with the Eskimos. He rushed for 1,058 yards and two touchdowns while making 34 catches for 312 yards and two touchdowns over two seasons and 15 games with Edmonton.
