The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have released Canadian receiver Spencer Watt, per sources.
The Ticats were shopping Watt before the 2017 CFL draft, but found no one will to part with assets due to the salary he commanded on his deal at the time.
Watt signed with the Ticats in February, 2015 after five season with the Toronto Argonauts but suffered a torn Achilles during off-season training. He ultimately played just one campaign with Hamilton, registering 21 catches for 211 yards in 18 games last season.
The Ticats still have Canadian pass catchers Giovanni Aprile, Mike Jones and Felix Felix Flaubert-Lussier on the roster and selected Jacob Scarfone from University of Guelph in the 2017Â CFL Draft.
