American linebacker Winston Venable has agreed to terms with the Argonauts on a two-year contract, per sources.
The 29-year-old played four years in Montreal recording 242 tackles, 12 sacks, five forced fumbles (one returned for a touchdown) in 57 games. He was a CFL all-star in 2015 when the five-foot-11, 220-pounder made a career-high 103 tackles.
Venable talked to current defensive coordinator Rich Stubler and he has connections to Chris Peterson who coached Venable while at Boise State.
