Long-time Canadian Football League defensive coach Rich Stubler is in Toronto to lend his expertise to the Argos as the Double Blue navigate free agency, per sources.
The Argonauts entered the free agency period without a general manager or head coach in place. Young, up-and-coming assistant general manager Spencer Zimmerman with full autonomy to make the appropriate decisions.
The 67-year-old Stubler got his first coaching job in the CFL in 1983. He’s under contract with Toronto as the Argos’ defensive coordinator for the 2017 season, but that could change when the new regime is hired.
