Edmonton Elks agree to terms with former Ticats OL Brendan Bordner

The Edmonton Elks have agreed to terms with American offensive lineman Brendan Bordner, sources have confirmed to 3DownNation. Barring anything unforeseen, he’s expected to sign with the team. TSN’s Farhan Lalji was the first to report the news.

Bordner started 13 games for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at left tackle last season, but was benched for the end of the regular season and playoffs. He joined the Ticats in 2024 and made 16 starts as a rookie.

The 26-year-old wrapped up his collegiate career at Florida Atlantic University in 2022, earning second-team All-Conference USA honours after starting 12 games at left tackle. He previously attended Rutgers University, where he started seven of the 40 games he played.

Pending CFL free agents can negotiate with teams across the league during the communication window, which closes on Sunday, February 8. Players can agree to terms on a contract with a particular franchise; however, the deals are not legally binding and can’t be made official until after free agency opens on Tuesday, February 10.
