Promising B.C. receiver Ayden Eberhardt agrees to terms with Ottawa Redblacks

The Ottawa Redblacks have agreed to terms with American receiver Ayden Eberhardt, sources have confirmed to 3DownNation. Barring anything unforeseen, he’s expected to sign with the team. The Canadian Press was the first to report the news.

Eberhardt made 45 catches for 863 yards and four touchdowns in 18 games for the B.C. Lions last season. He finished 15th in CFL receiving yards despite ranking sixth on his own team in receptions, with his 19.2 yards per catch the second-highest among qualifying receivers in the league.

The 27-year-old first joined the Lions in 2023, making five catches for 69 yards in two games. He cemented himself in the starting lineup the following season, making 41 receptions for 639 yards and two touchdowns.

The native of Loveland, Col., attended the University of Wyoming as a walk-on. He appeared in 42 games over five seasons, recording 47 receptions for 722 yards and two majors.

Pending CFL free agents can negotiate with teams across the league during the communication window, which closes on Sunday, February 8. Players can agree to terms on a contract with a particular franchise; however, the deals are not legally binding and can’t be made official until after free agency opens on Tuesday, February 10.
