The Toronto Argonauts have signed American running back Peyton Logan and American defensive lineman Dewayne Hendrix.
Logan was cut by the Blue Bombers last week ahead of an offseason roster bonus. The 27-year-old suffered an injury early in training camp in 2025 and dressed for only three regular-season games, recording one carry for minus-two yards, two catches for 10 yards, seven punt returns for 61 yards, and nine kickoff returns for 186 yards.
The five-foot-six, 190-pound speedster started his CFL career with the Calgary Stampeders in 2022. Over three seasons with the team, he rushed for 889 yards, caught 42 passes for 274 yards, returned 69 kickoffs for 1,580 yards, returned 136 punts for 1,501 yards, and scored seven total touchdowns.
The native of Memphis, Tenn. was a collegiate standout at the University of Tennessee at Martin, where he rushed for 2,513 yards, caught 86 passes for 727 yards, and scored 16 offensive touchdowns.
Hendrix was cut by the B.C. Lions ahead of an offseason roster bonus late last week. The 29-year-old dressed for in 13 regular-season games last season and made 21 defensive tackles and four sacks.
The six-foot-four, 275-pound defender spent the 2022 and 2023 seasons with the Argonauts, helping the team win the Grey Cup as a rookie. He later joined the Tiger-Cats as a free agent in 2024.
Through 67 CFL regular-season games, Hendrix has recorded 103 defensive tackles, one special teams tackle, 16 sacks, and two forced fumbles.
The Argonauts have also signed Global defensive lineman Soane Toia.
The six-foot, 278-pound native of Tonga was a second-round pick in the 2025 CFL Global Draft. He played 57 games at San Jose State, recording 153 tackles, 26.5 for loss, and 12 sacks. He was named first-team All-Mountain West in 2024 and second-team All-Mountain West in 2023.
The Toronto Argonauts finished third in the East Division standings in 2025 with a 5-13 record, missing the playoffs for the first time since 2019. Franchise quarterback Chad Kelly was unable to play all season due to a fractured leg he suffered in the East Final the previous year, giving way to Nick Arbuckle, who threw for 4,370 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions to be named the team’s candidate for Most Outstanding Player.
The Argonauts ranked seventh in net offence, sixth in net defence, and seventh with a turnover differential of minus-eight. The club’s leading rusher was Spencer Brown with 314 yards, leading receiver was Dejon Brissett with 907 yards, and leading tackler was Cameron Judge with 79 tackles. Toronto ranked ninth in attendance with average crowds of 15,109, which was a 0.1 percent decrease from the previous year.
