Saskatchewan Roughriders re-sign award-winning offensive lineman Jermarcus Hardrick

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed award-winning offensive lineman Jermarcus Hardrick to a one-year contract extension, tying him to the team through 2026. He was a pending free agent.

The 35-year-old was named the CFL’s Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman last month, winning the award for the first time in his long career.

Hardrick was the leader for a Saskatchewan unit that finished fourth in rushing and tied for the second-fewest sacks allowed. Analytics firm Pro Football Focus rated him as the top blocker in the league with a grade of 84.4. He allowed just 16 total pressures on 579 pass blocking snaps, a rate of 2.9 percent.

Hardrick began his CFL career with the B.C. Lions in 2014. After a brief stint with Saskatchewan in 2015, he signed with Winnipeg the following season and became a fixture along the team’s offensive line, winning two Grey Cups. He signed with the Roughriders in 2023, becoming the highest-paid offensive lineman in the league.

In total, Hardrick has played 159 career regular-season CFL games and won three championship rings.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders finished first in the West Division standings in 2025 with a 12-6 record, finishing first in the West Division for the first time since 2019. The team went on to defeat the Montreal Alouettes in the 112th Grey Cup in Winnipeg, marking the team’s first championship in 12 years. Trevor Harris went 11-5 as a starter, throwing for 4,549 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.

The Roughriders ranked second in net offence, second in net defence, and tied for third with a turnover differential of plus-eight. The club’s leading rusher was A.J. Ouellette with 1,222 yards, leading receiver was KeeSean Johnson with 1,159 yards, and leading tackler was A.J. Allen with 91 tackles. Saskatchewan finished second in attendance with average crowds of 28,427, which was a 2.7 percent increase from the previous year.
