BC Lions allow LB Adam Bighill to pursue NFL aspirations

2016 CFL all-star linebacker Adam Bighill has been granted his release from the BC Lions in order to pursue possible NFL opportunities.

Based on a clause in his contract, the five-foot-10, 230-pound tackler has a window from now until January 27, 2017 to explore NFL chances. If Bighill does not sign with an NFL team within that time period he remains under contract with the Leos through the 2018 season.

The 28-year-old recorded 108 tackles – third most in the CFL – five sacks and one interception in 2016 for BC while earning league all-star honours for the fourth time in his six-year CFL career.

Scouts say Bighill is undersized for the NFL.
