Regina Rams player Michael Jourdan granted conditional release following fentanyl drug bust

Regina Rams football player Michael Jourdan has been granted a conditional release, according to the Regina Leader-Post.

Late last month, the Toronto, Ont. native was arrested following a four-month investigation by Regina police and charged with the commission of an offence for a criminal organization, traffic in a controlled substance (fentanyl), possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000.

Jourdan was one of five individuals arrested during the drug bust alongside his teammate, defensive lineman Tarick Polius, who remains in custody. His release conditions include attending court when required, reporting to his probation officer, abstaining from drugs and alcohol, not attending businesses that primarily sell cannabis or alcohol, having no contact with the other accused, not possessing a firearm, not possessing a smartphone unless it is registered to him, and forfeiture of his passport.

None of the allegations against Jourdan or any of the individuals facing charges have been proven in court.

The 21-year-old joined the Rams in 2024 after a stint with Okanagan Sun of the Canadian Junior Football League during which he was named a CJFL All-Canadian. The six-foot, 185-pound defensive back played nine games for Regina last season, registering 22 tackles, five pass breakups, two interceptions, and one fumble recovery.

The Rams, who won the Hardy Cup this past season, have suspended Jourdan and Polius from the team. They declined to comment on the pair’s arrest or criminal charges.

The Regina police service executed eight search warrants and seized five kilograms of fentanyl, almost 500 grams of cocaine, almost 25 grams of methamphetamine, just over $150,000 in cash, two restricted handguns, and three vehicles. In total, the seizure value is around $1.5 million.
