Veteran backup Jeremiah Masoli continues to take first-team reps as the Ottawa Redblacks returned to practice following their final bye week, according to TSN radio play-by-play man AJ Jakubec.
Starting quarterback Dru Brown has been on the shelf since the mid-way point of the team’s Week 16 loss to Montreal, when he was pulled for a nagging ankle injury. In 14 games this season, he has completed 255-of-383 passes for 3,114 yards, 11 touchdowns, and eight interceptions.
Masoli made his second start of the season in Week 17, going 26-of-36 for 278 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions in a loss to Saskatchewan. He won his previous start over Calgary in Week 11, completing 27-of-35 pass attempts for 254 yards and one touchdown.

The five-foot-ten, 215-pound passer has thrown for 933 yards, five touchdowns, and six interceptions over nine games this season and rushed five times for 33 yards. Over 121 career CFL games, Masoli has thrown for 17,608 yards, 87 touchdowns, and 60 interceptions.
The Ottawa Redblacks (8-6-1) are on a three-game losing streak and will visit the Montreal Alouettes (11-3-1) on Thanksgiving Monday, October 14 at 1:00 p.m. EDT.
