The Toronto Argonauts have signed Canadian long snapper Simon Chaves.
The five-foot-eleven, 215-pound native of Guelph, Ont. was a member of the Ottawa Redblacks and Edmonton Elks earlier this year but didn’t dress for a game with either team. He previously attended training camp with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers after going unselected in the 2022 CFL Draft.
The 26-year-old was a two-sport athlete at the collegiate level as a football player and wrestler at the University of Guelph.
The Argonauts (8-7) will visit the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (10-6) on Friday, Oct. 11 with kickoff slated for 8:30 p.m. EDT.
