QB Dan LeFevour, who has CFL experience, released by Buccaneers

Quarterback Dan LeFevour, who has played for the Ticats and Alouettes, was released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Wednesday, after signing with the Bucs just a few months ago.

The 29-year-old dual-threat pivot attended Saskatchewan Roughriders’ mini-camp back in April.

LeFevour has four seasons of CFL experience. He’s suited up in 44 games with four of those being starts for Hamilton in 2014. That year the Central Michigan product suffered a season-ending torn left ACL injury. Montreal signed the Illinois native in 2015, but he went down in the Alouettes opening game of the season, after coming on in relief, with a dislocated shoulder that required surgery and saw him miss the entire rest of the season.

If no further NFL options present themselves it’s possible LeFevour could end up back in the three-down league.
