The Ottawa Redblacks have ruled out strong-side linebacker Adarius Pickett for the season due to an Achilles injury. TSN radio play-by-play man AJ Jakubec was the first to report.

Pickett was injured on Ottawa’s first defensive snap during Saturday’s 37-21 loss to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and did not return to the game. Over 13 contests this season, he recorded 52 defensive tackles, 14 special teams tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, and one interception.

The five-foot-eleven, 210-pound native of Berkeley, Calif. spent the first three seasons of his career as a member of the Montreal Alouettes and Toronto Argonauts. He was named a CFL all-star and the East Division’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player as a member of the Boatmen last season.
