Ottawa Redblacks’ quarterback Dru Brown was back taking starting reps at the team’s practice on Tuesday, according to a report from A.J. Jakubec.

The 27-year-old could be back in the lineup this week against the B.C. Lions after suffering a foot injury in the second quarter of the Redblacks’ Week 10 tie with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Dustin Crum finished that contest by completing 21-of-32 passes for 211 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception.

Neither quarterback played in the team’s 31-29 win over the Calgary Stampeders last week, as Jeremiah Masoli made his first start in 404 days and just his sixth appearance since joining Ottawa in 2022. The 35-year-old completed 27-of-35 passes for 254 yards, one touchdown, and no interceptions, but it appears Brown will be taking over the starting duties once again.

The five-foot-11, 191-pound pivot has thrown for 1,936 yards, six touchdowns, and four interceptions through eight games in his first season as a starter. His last full start came nearly a month ago in Ottawa’s 33-6 dispatching of Calgary, in which Brown completed 30-of-37 passes for 325 yards, one touchdown, and no interceptions.

The Redblacks (6-2-1) will host the Lions (5-5) with kickoff slated for 7:00 p.m. EDT on Saturday, Aug. 24.
