The Toronto Argonauts have released Canadian fullback Albert Awachie.
The 31-year-old native of Toronto, Ont. played seven games with the team this season, making one catch for five yards. He joined the team as a free agent in February.
The six-foot-three, 262-pounder started his CFL career with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2017 as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Toronto. He made 10 catches for 74 yards and 15 special teams tackles over 67 games with the team.
The Toronto Argonauts (4-4) will host the Calgary Stampeders (4-4) on Friday, Aug. 9 with kickoff slated for 7:30 p.m. EDT.
