The Argos are setting sail at their new home field in style.
Toronto’s opener at BMO Field will feature a free concert in ‘The Shipyard’ – a fan fest venue – with Toronto-born rapper Kardinal Offishall taking the stage at 4:30 p.m. and Canadian band The Strumbellas, Juno winners in 2014, performing at 5:30 p.m in advance of the Argos kicking off against the rival Ticats at 7:30 p.m.
If you’re enjoying the music, BBQ food and $4 beers at the Argos’ tailgate on Thursday you might bump into a franchise icon. Quarterbacks Joe Theismann and Damon Allen, along with electrifying playmakers Michael “Pinball” Clemons and Raghib “Rocket” Ismail will be at all the pre-game festivities and take part in a ceremonial coin toss.
That’s quite a lineup the double blue has for a fresh era of Argos football.
