The Toronto Argonauts have signed American defensive lineman John Daka.
The 26-year-old native of Upper Marlboro, Md. most recently spent time with the XFL’s Houston Roughnecks in 2023 and made 26 tackles and 4.5 sacks over 10 games.
The six-foot-two, 240-pound defender went unselected in the 2020 NFL Draft before stints with the Baltimore Ravens, New York Jets, Los Angeles Rams, and Chicago Bears, though he never dressed for a regular season NFL game.

The James Madison University product made 137 tackles and 27.5 sacks over 48 collegiate regular season games and was named first-team All-Conference as a senior in 2019.
Toronto will open their 2024 regular season on Sunday, June 9 when they host the B.C. Lions at BMO Field.
