Offensive lineman Charles Vaillancourt (Raiders), running back Mercer Timmis (Panthers) and receiver Mike Jones (Redskins) all took part in NFL rookie mini-camps from May 13-15. However, no player was offered a contract.
Each Canadian was selected in the 2016 CFL Draft, Vaillancourt fifth overall by the B.C. Lions , Timmis and Jones 14th and 18th respectively by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
That means the attention for each young man turns to them signing with their CFL teams and getting prepared for training camp in the three-down league.
