Former CFL receiver Steven Dunbar Jr. has been waived by the Houston Roughnecks of the UFL.

The 28-year-old made his debut with the team on Sunday after starting the season on the inactive list. He was targeted three times and made one reception for 19 yards in a 34-20 loss to the Michigan Panthers.

The six-foot-three, 202-pound target played 13 games with the Edmonton Elks in 2023 and caught 39 passes for 536 yards and five touchdowns. He was the third-highest-paid receiver in the league but was released so the team could avoid paying him an off-season roster bonus worth $65,000.
