Calgary Stampeders sign edge rusher Clarence Hicks

The Calgary Stampeders have signed American defensive lineman Clarence Hicks.

The six-foot-two, 230-pound defender signed with the Cincinnati Bengals after going unselected in the 2022 NFL Draft, though he was released at the end of training camp.

The 25-year-old most recently played for the Seattle Sea Dragons of the XFL, recording 21 tackles and two sacks over 10 games.

The native of Pensacola, Fla. finished his collegiate career at the University of Texas at San Antonio, recording 108 total tackles, 31 tackles for loss, 12.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, and two interceptions over 38 games. He was named first-team Conference USA as a linebacker in 2021.

Hicks started his collegiate career at Hutchinson Community College in Kansas where he made 42 tackles, 14 sacks, and two forced fumbles with the Blue Dragons.
