Edmonton Elks sign behemoth blocker Jonathan Busker

The Edmonton Elks have signed American offensive lineman Jonathan Buskey.

The six-foot-seven, 330-pound blocker played at Elizabeth City State University this past season, a Division II program located in Elizabeth City, N.C. The native of Mobile, Ala. played eight games for the Vikings and participated in the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Pigskin Showdown this past December.

The 25-year-old started his collegiate career at Coffeyville Community College and also had a stint at Chowan University. In 2018 and 2019, he was named KJCCC All-Conference honourable mention.

The Elks will open their 2024 regular season by hosting the Saskatchewan Roughriders at Commonwealth Stadium on Saturday, June 8.
