B.C. Lions re-sign Belgian DL Tibo Debaillie

The B.C. Lions have signed Global defensive lineman Tibo Debaillie to a one-year contract extension, tying him to the team through 2024. He was set to become a free agent next month.

The 26-year-old recorded 14 defensive tackles and two special teams tackles over 18 regular season games this past year, rotating heavily at the defensive tackle position.

The native of Gistel, Belgium joined the Lions as a free agent in 2022 and made 20 defensive tackles, three sacks, and one fumble recovery over 18 regular season games.

The six-foot-two, 285-pound defender was a third-round pick of the Edmonton Elks in the 2021 Global Draft and dressed for three games with the team that season, making one tackle.

Debaillie played collegiately at Towson University and also had a stint with the Ostend Pirates of the Belgian Football League.
