The Toronto Argonauts have re-signed American linebacker Jonathan Jones. The move came mere hours after the club traded Canadian linebacker Jordan Williams to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

The 26-year-old made 49 defensive tackles, 13 special teams tackles, seven sacks, and one interception for the Argonauts this past season. He made five starts at middle linebacker and two starts at weak-side linebacker, splitting time with Williams.

The five-foot-eleven, 230-pound defender won the Grey Cup as a rookie with the Argonauts in 2022. He spent his collegiate career at Notre Dame and Toledo, earning second-team All-MAC honours as a member of the Rockets in 2021.
