Canadian defensive lineman Lwal Uguak has signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after an outstanding rookie year with the Montreal Alouettes.

The six-foot-four, 261-pound defender earned a starting role with the Alouettes this past season, recording 17 tackles and four sacks. He had five tackles in the East Semi-Final, one tackle in the East Final, and five tackles in the 110th Grey Cup to help his club snap their championship drought.

Uguak worked out for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on December 12. He attended rookie minicamps with the New York Giants and Atlanta Falcons last off-season but wasn’t offered a contract by either team.
