The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed American linebacker Brian Cole to a one-year contract extension, tying him to the team through 2024. He was set to become a free agent next month.
The six-foot-two, 210-pound defender dressed for 15 games with the club in 2023 and made three defensive tackles, 14 special teams tackles, and three forced fumbles.
The 26-year-old first joined the Blue Bombers partway through the 2022 season and played 11 games that year, recording six special teams tackles.

Cole was selected in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings. He has also had stints with the Miami Dolphins, Carolina Panthers, Saskatchewan Roughriders, and Edmonton Elks.
CFL free agency gets underway at noon EST on Tuesday, Feb. 13.
