Tre bien: Riders sign former Ticats DE Tre’ Crawford

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed American defensive end Tre’ Crawford.  

The six-foot-three, 245-pound pass rusher became a free agent after finishing the 2023 season on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ practice roster. In two seasons with the Ticats, Crawford registered 18 defensive tackles, one special teams tackle, four sacks, and one forced fumble.

The 27-year-old played collegiately at the University of Alabama Birmingham after transferring from Tyler Community College. In 21 games over two seasons with the Blazers, he amassed 43 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, eight sacks, and two fumble recoveries.

Crawford went unselected in the 2019 NFL Draft, spending parts of two seasons with the Atlanta Falcons and Denver Broncos before coming north.

The Riders open the 2024 campaign on Saturday, June 8 at 7:00 p.m. ET when they visit the Edmonton Elks.
