The Montreal Alouettes have signed offensive lineman Jamar McGloster and defensive back Dionté Ruffin to contract extensions through 2025.
McGloster made nine regular season starts at right tackle for the Alouettes in 2023 after taking over from an injured Landon Rice. He continued to start during the playoffs, helping the club defeat the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the 110th Grey Cup in Hamilton.
The six-foot-seven, 308-pound blocker had NFL stints with the San Francisco 49ers, Detroit Lions, Los Angeles Chargers, and Oakland Raiders prior to signing his first CFL contract with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2019. He was also a member of the Ottawa Redblacks in 2021 and B.C. Lions in 2022.
Ruffin made 23 tackles and one forced fumble over 12 games in 2023, making four starts at field-side cornerback, four starts at boundary cornerback, and three starts at field-side halfback. He continued to start at boundary cornerback during the postseason, recording seven tackles and one pass knockdown.
The five-foot-ten, 177-pound defender played for the Calgary Stampeders in 2022 and made 39 defensive tackles and one interception. He also had a brief stint with the Chicago Bears after going unselected in the 2021 NFL Draft.
